Day 9 – Attitude of Gratitude [14-Day Power Mindset Challenge]

👋 Welcome to Day 9 of Team Asijiki’s free 14-Day Power Mindset Challenge!

💡 Each day for 14 days we give you 1 lesson and an action to complete that will make you think, open your mind and better prepare you for change in any aspects of your life.

Today’s lesson is to have an Attitude of Gratitude

There are many things to be grateful for.

They can be tiny and superficial, like a cup of hot coffee. They could be massive and deep such as a special relationship.

It does not matter. It all counts. From the banal to the significant, you should add it all to your gratitude scorecard.

It is a powerful tool to be able to focus on what you have and not on what you do not have, especially when times get tough.

Write them down. Turn them into mantras. Count your blessings and repeat them to yourself.

There is no better state of mind to set you up for a great day. One of our favourite gurus, Tony Robbins argues that you cannot be angry or in pain when you are in a true state of gratitude – we have tested it and it is true.

Listen.

Life is a struggle for everyone – even though it may not look like it. Everyone is fighting some kind of battle no matter how perfect their life looks.

At the same time no matter how bad things are there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for.

It is worth it.

Here are 7 PROVEN BENEFITS OF GRATITUDE:

  1. Improved physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  2. Greater optimism and happiness.
  3. Improved feelings of connection in times of loss or crises.
  4. Increased self-esteem.
  5. Heightened energy levels.
  6. Strengthened heart, immune system, and decreased blood pressure.
  7. Decreased stress, anxiety and depression

With every moment in life, YOU get to choose your experience. You get to see something as an opportunity or a punishment, a failure or a lesson.

How awesome is that?

We live in our heads, so if we can flip the script we truly can live a new and positive life. You are not your thoughts.

Be ruthless about finding the good in EVERYTHING.

Positive people attract goodness into their lives and that is a fact. Your vibe attracts your tribe. So become someone who thanks others all the time and makes the people in your life feel appreciated and valued. If you find yourself thinking and saying THANK YOU a lot you are on the right track.

Be fearlessly grateful and expect nothing in return.

We will always be wanting for more and as humans, we tend to give much greater power to the things we lack and downplay what we possess. It’s like when you receive a bunch of compliments but you brush them off but should one person criticises you it’s virtually impossible not to fixate on it. We give that one negative opinion all the power which is totally disproportionate and simply not reality.

If one person rejects you does that mean you have no value to the world? Not at all although it may feel that way.

By focusing on the negative you will end up constantly dissatisfied. Gratitude is a tool we want to give you today.

So go ahead and start!

Grab a piece of paper and pen and think about what you are grateful for.

Today’s task is to list 5 things you are grateful for.

Want to keep up the habit?
Keep a notebook close to your bed or where you start the day and jot down 3-5 things each day that you are grateful for.
